I have created Cahira to make Nitinol Fishing Wire available at a more accessable price to you. I've personally used Nitinol, more commonly known as Titanium Wire, for nearly 10 years now.
Obviously I love the stuff! I think it is the best trace material as it's superelastic properties cushions impacts and the casting of heavy loads. It's memory means that it is exceptionally durable, not kinking after every capture or snag. This also has a hidden benefit, by being somewhat rigid, it is very easy to untangle from tree branches and to flip over ropes and railings.
However, it has always been expensive in comparison to other materials. So much so, that I have seen people continue to use an obviously compromised trace rather than change or repair it.
This practice has several disadvantages, most prominent for me is that you could leave hardware in a fish, or you could leave expensive hardware in a fish, or you could leave expensive hardware in the fish of a lifetime! Bad for you, Really bad for the fish!
